Douglas Scissorhands…
was born Douglas Halper in Great Neck, New York and, although he does have a great neck, many feel his most remarkable quality is his ability to take an ordinary pair of scissors and a pack of cardstock and magically fill his home with lots of paper accidents. Even more impressive is his stubbornness to keep trying until he gets it right! He is also known to play music, pop balloons (while trying to twist them), and laugh a lot at his own jokes. Mr. Scissorhands loves to hear from fans especially if they have a great recipe for matzah brei.
While not playing with sharp objects, Douglas Scissorhands can be found performing for schools, restaurants, parties, corporate events, weddings, communions, and any other event where people wish to see the ordinary become extraordinary in a matter of seconds right before their very eyes.
If the moonlight is just right, you can also catch Douglas creating custom pop-up invitations, thank-you cards, corporate stationary, reception décor and all sorts of one-of-a-kind creations for happy and mystified clients.
Mr. Scissorhands has taught and performed for schools, camps and corporations (Disney, Warner Bros., etc.) all over the country as well as volunteered countless hours – serving students, churches, non-profits and many others that have a need for unique, mesmerizing, entertainment and education.
